Napa Valley Vintners Pledges $1.2 Million to Afterschool and Summer Programs
The Sept. 30 announcement in Saint Helena sends $660,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley and supports 8,500 county students.

SAINT HELENA: Napa Valley Vintners announced Sept. 30 it is giving $1.2 million to afterschool and summer programs that serve 8,500 students across Napa County.
The largest share, $660,000, goes to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Napa Valley, which the vintners say serves 5,000 students a year across 10 campuses, two clubhouses and a teen center. With the new grant, the vintners lifetime giving to the club reaches $9.5 million, dating to 1999.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Helena and Calistoga receive $275,000. The club serves 1,300 students across six Up Valley locations, according to the announcement, bringing lifetime vintner support to $6.2 million.

Smaller grants, long histories
Aim High receives $80,000 for its programs serving students in grades 5 through 8, bringing lifetime support to $865,000 since 2015. The Napa River Ecology Center American Canyon programs get $80,000, for lifetime support of $210,000 since 2019. Girls on the Run receives $60,000, bringing lifetime support to $590,000 since 2011; each season ends with a 5K.

The announcement follows a $1.8 million vintner round for campus wellness initiatives announced Sept. 1, and the vintners say more grant announcements are coming in October.
